| The brake parachute is used to reduce the landing run of the aircraft. The parachute is stowed directly into a metal container with the parachute connecting link protruding at the aft end. The main parachute is held in position in the removable container by a pair of locking straps and the auxiliary parachute is stowed in a small pack which is attached to one of the straps. The brake parachute system is designed to operate normally at streaming of upto 150 Knots, but can be operated at a speed upto 180 Knots in an emergency.
